Adult Day Care Program

Please take a moment to view VIDEOS from the Adult Day Care Program for your enjoyment.

Since 1984, the Town of Huntington has offered extraordinary social model day care services for our mature adult community. Our wide range of programs, resources, facilities, and staff are available to all Suffolk County residents sixty years of age and older (younger in some instances). We cater to those individuals who are experiencing decreased levels of physical and cognitive abilities, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease who are in need of supervision in a safe and structured environment.

Services are available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. Our members may attend one to five days a week. A continental breakfast and nutritious main meal are served daily with assorted snacks and beverages available throughout the day. We provide a structured program of daily activities, crafts, parties with live entertainment, and day trips that help maintain physical and cognitive abilities, socialization, companionship and enhanced self-esteem.

Our Senior Division social worker offers caregivers: a monthly daytime support group (every other week), referrals and assistance, and semi-annual events.

Individual transportation, with handicapped accessibility, is provided free of charge for Town of Huntington residents. Our fees are budget-friendly and are accepted by some long-term care insurance plans and by some Medicaid managed care providers. Suffolk County Office for the Aging (SCOFA) respite care grant may pay for one day a week for those who qualify.
