Dix Hills Junior Firefighter Academy

A real fire academy designed to introduce your child to the volunteer fire service by teaching fire safety, first aid, self confidence, leadership, and respect. Each junior firefighter will go through the Heartsaver program and receive a certification card from the American Heart Association. Limited hands-on training for hose handling and rescue techniques. Field trips include visits to the Yaphank Fire Academy, the Suffolk County EMS call center, a visit to the Islip airport Fire-Rescue department, and more. Lunch not provided. Medical forms are required and must be submitted one month prior to the session.
