Curbside Recycling Programs
The Town of Huntington is a leader in curbside recycling collection. In
previous years the Town has collected over 9,300 tons (18,600,000 lbs.) of paper
and cardboard as well as 4,900 tons (9,800,000 lbs.) of mixed glass,
metal and plastic recycling.
In January of 2015 the Town began collecting recyclables "single
stream" in its curbside collection program known as, "Huntington
Recycles: All In One". Single stream recycling refers to placing all acceptable recyclables (bottles, cans, plastics, paper and
cardboard) in a single container for collection. Residents no longer need
to sort their paper and cardboard from their bottles and cans. It's "All In
One" now. For additional information on this recycling program please
visit the Huntington Recycles: All In One webpage.
Residents are reminded that recycling collection begins at 5:00 on collection days and that their recycling pick up may change on weeks with observed holidays so pay close
attention to your
collection schedule on holiday weeks.
In February of 2013 the Town began collecting electronic
devices as part of its residential curbside collection program. This
program is by appointment only.
