Planning Board

The Planning Board is an independent seven-member body appointed by the Town Board to seven-year terms with full power and authority to investigate, map, issue reports and make recommendations relating to planning and development functions of the Town. In furtherance of the goals of Huntington’s Comprehensive Plan—enhancing the character of local community, preserving quality of life and maintaining a healthy and safe environment for residents—the Planning Board reviews, recommends changes and modifications and votes on subdivision applications and site plans for proposed developments.

The Planning Board is also a participant in the on-going process of monitoring and evaluating the performance of the Comprehensive Plan and in its update. (Go to Meetings on Demand to view Planning Board proceedings).
