7/16/2015 - Petrone, Edwards Recognize Insp. Edward Brady
Huntington Supervisor Frank P. Petrone and Councilwoman Tracey A. Edwards were joined by their Town Council colleagues in offering special recognition and thanks to Insp. Edward Brady, who is retiring after almost six years as commanding officer of the Suffolk County Police Department’s Second Precinct.

At the July 14 Town Board meeting, Supervisor Petrone and Councilwoman Edwards presented Insp. Brady with a proclamation that noted he has been a dedicated public servant, often giving his time at community events. The proclamation added, “His years of service have been marked by exemplary dedication to the best interest of our community and our citizens, thereby making Huntington a safer and better place to live.”

“He served us during times that were rough, and he served us well during those times,” Supervisor Petrone said, calling the Inspector a “special, special individual. “Always a gentleman, I have never heard this man say anything derogatory about an individual, I have never heard him raise his voice. I only heard him when we sat, heard him in terms of his willingness to work out a problem and an issue.”

“He is one of a kind,” Councilwoman Edwards said, noting that members of the community, as well as the police commissioner, chief of department and other high-ranking police officers were present to join in honoring the Inspector.

Of Insp. Brady’s 36-year career with the Suffolk County Police Department, 14 years were spent in the Second Precinct, which covers the Town of Huntington
