Free Heart Screenings For Town of Huntington Employees

Huntington, NY – Councilwoman Susan A. Berland, together with Dr. David Kavesteen of Heart and Health Medical, will be providing free heart screenings to Town of Huntington employees from September 15th to October 15th

“Evaluation and education are important to prevent the threat of heart disease,” commented Councilwoman Berland. “High blood pressure readings, pulmonary function tests, EKGs and pulse oxygen tests, as well as discussions with a cardiologist, help to evaluate and educate patients. I thank Dr. David Kavesteen for helping all Town of Huntington employees increase their health awareness through the screenings he is providing.”

“The best cure for heart disease is prevention and early detection,” Dr. Kavesteen stated. “My staff and myself at Heart & Health Medical are dedicated to helping our community and working with local Government to save lives. Heart disease and stroke kills more Americans than any other disease and they are preventable.  People in high stress jobs like those in Government should be aware of the risks and signs of heart disease and stroke.  Modern medicine and new advances in technologies, have given us the ability to detect these diseases and stop their onset.  An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. It is more cost effective and it has better clinical outcomes. It ultimately will save more people and improve their quality of life.”
