Huntington Supervisor Frank P. Petrone moved his annual pasta party for seniors to the Town’s Village Green Senior Center, which allowed 199 people – twice the capacity of the previous location, the Senior Beach House in Centerport – to enjoy an afternoon of Italian food and music on October 6.
Councilwoman Susan A. Berland joined Supervisor Petrone on the serving line, helping to pass out plates filled with spaghetti, meatballs and Italian bread. A salad and a slice of cannoli cake completed the menu. The seniors also enjoyed listening and dancing to music performed by Steve Cassano, a Senior Center favorite.
In past years, Supervisor Petrone had held the party at the beach house, which had a maximum capacity of 100. Moving the event to the senior center allowed more persons to participate and for the food to be prepared on site.
