10/14/2014 - Petrone, Berland, Edwards Welcome Suffolk County National Bank to Melville

Melville – Huntington Supervisor Frank P. Petrone and Councilwomen Susan A. Berland and Tracey A. Edwards participated in the ceremony October 9 marking the opening of Suffolk County National Bank’s newest branch at 290 Broadhollow Road.

The branch, which opened June 30, is adjacent to the bank’s loan production office, which opened in November 2012, and is the latest in the Riverhead-headquartered bank’s strategy of opening small branches in combination with loan production offices. These 500-square-foot branches, staffed with three employees, focus solely on the local business community. The branch staff works directly with the lenders in the loan production offices to attract deposits and provide cash management services to borrowers.

With assets of $1.7 billion and equity capital in excess of $175 million, Suffolk County National Bank is one of the largest community banks headquartered on Long Island. The Bank's market niche includes small and middle market businesses as well as retail clients ancillary to these commercial relationships. SCNB has a long history of commitment to businesses and consumers, and financial support and service to the municipalities and not-for-profits that serve the region. SCNB is regarded as a corporate leader and is known, along with its employees, for its culture of active community involvement.
