Town of Huntington, NY - News Details

4/27/2016 - Waterproofing Project Resumes at South Parking Garage

The second level of the South Parking Garage at the Huntington Long Island Rail Road station will be closed for several weeks beginning Monday, May 2, for the completion of the waterproofing project that is the last phase of the garage’s rehabilitation. Following that closure, the fifth, fourth and third levels will be closed for one week each to complete detail work related to the project.

The project began last year and waterproofing was completed on the upper levels before work was suspended due to the winter weather. It is estimated that the second level will be closed for about five weeks; after that, work will be done on the stair tower and handicap ramps and the detail work (pavement markings) on the fifth, fourth and third levels.

Commuters are advised that parking should be available in the surface parking lot on the west side of New York Avenue between Railroad and Church Streets, but that they should allow some extra time to walk to the station.
