– Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci co-hosted a Child & Digital Safety
Presentation with Long Island Citizens for Community Values on June 11 at Town
Hall.
“We
want to equip parents with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively manage
their children's digital screen time, limit access to inappropriate material,
and be aware of how to handle other digital threats,” said Supervisor
Lupinacci, who was presented with an award from LICCV for the Town’s efforts in
coordinating the event to highlight the issue of online safety for children.

including:

and cyber bullying

Social
media addiction

Impaired
cognitive development due to early digital dependency

Effectively
managing your children's screen time on their tablets and smartphones

Risks
of unregulated access to indecent and obscene material to minors via all
digital devices
Long Island Citizens for Community Values
(LICCV) is a not-for-profit organization working to protect the community from
the harmful effects of obscene and indecent material. LICCV has developed
extensive Education and Awareness programs, which reach across Long Island
metropolitan area. LICCV assists and supports government agencies drafting
legislation and initiating laws that protect our families and communities and
encourages the reinforcement of these laws.
