EECBG Project Activity 2: Renewable Energy Solar Photo-Voltaic Panels on Town Hall

Solar Panel design (left) and as installed on Town Hall (right)

Town Hall is the Town's flagship building, visited by approximately 10,000 residents each month who come to do things like attend board meetings, apply for marriage license, pickup a beach sticker, even to pay a parking ticket.

In addition Town Hall is a three-story building with unobstructed south and west-facing roof lines.  In other words, Town Hall was an optimal site for installation of Solar Photo-Voltaic Renewable Energy Generating System installation.   The solar panel installation was completed in April 2011.  As part of the project a computer screen kiosk was installed next to the reception desk in the Town Hall lobby that provides real-time metering of the energy output.  The public can monitor the Town's renewable energy production as it occurs.

Town Hall Solar Photo-voltaic Project Summary

Installation: March 2011
System Size: 28.0 Kilowatts
Output: 34,136 Kilowatt Hours
Emission Reductions (CO2e): 22 Metric Tons/Year
