1/19/2018 - Lupinacci Congratulates Emerging Business Leaders
Huntington Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci joined with the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce January 9 in distributing awards to the winners of the 15th annual Emerging Leaders Business Competition, which drew more than 400 participants from 18 high schools across Long Island.
The competition challenges high school students to think beyond the scope of the classroom and gives them the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and capabilities in a business environment. In the competition, which was held in November, students were asked to address given tasks and current issues in one of 11 categories, and winners were chosen in each of the categories, representing 19 separate competitions (some categories had multiple divisions).
“All of the students who participated should be commended for stretching their boundaries to test how what they have learned in the classroom applies to real life situations,” Supervisor Lupinacci said. “Thank you to all of the high schools who took part, and to the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring this increasingly popular competition.”
