Northport
– Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci is excited to announce a new demand-based
pricing model at Crab Meadow Golf Course intended to boost revenue for the Town
while lowering the price to tee off during off-peak hours this summer.
“This is
an excellent opportunity for the public to take advantage of the beautiful
18-hole golf course at Crab Meadow,” said Supervisor Lupinacci. “It’s one of
several creative revenue-producing measures the Town is working on that will
allow us to continue to provide new and existing services to our residents
without increasing the tax burden.”
Non-residents
currently pay $46 for tee times between 11am and 3pm Tuesday through Thursday;
the new pricing model reduces that rate to $29 and $21 for seniors and disabled
persons, the rates residents pay with the Town of Huntington Golf Card.
Residents who do not purchase the Golf Card can also take advantage of the new
weekday rates.
Greg
Wagner, Director of Parks and Recreation, is confident that this move will draw
more golfers to Crab Meadow. “We have the most beautiful public golf course on
Long Island. The more we can expose and attract our neighbors, the more word
spreads and generates interest in returning for another great day of golf and
food at Macs at the Meadow,” said Wagner. “The new pricing model will remain in
effect for the next few months, so please come take advantage of this
opportunity and join us for a great day on the course.”
The
18-hole Crab Meadow Golf Course features 6,598 yards of golf from the longest
tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.3 and it has a slope rating of
131 on Blue grass. Designed by William F. Mitchell, ASGCA, the Crab Meadow golf
course opened in 1965.
