8/20/2019 - Lupinacci Honors Eagle Scout Henry Rivas for Dedication to Animals, Education & Preservation

Plainview - On Saturday, August 3, Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci celebrated an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Melville resident Henry Rivas of Boy Scout Troop 708 at the Church of Jesus Christ in Plainview.

“Henry’s dedication to animals, preservation and his community is demonstrated through his Eagle Scout project, consisting of building two rabbit hutches for the educational Holtsville Ecology Site and Animal Preserve,” said Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci.

Supervisor Lupinacci presented Henry Rivas with a proclamation and a pin of the Town of Huntington Seal.

Henry Rivas’ Eagle Scout project, entitled “Every Bunny Needs Some Bunny," comprised of two custom-made rabbit hutches for the Brookhaven Ecology Site and Animal Preserve, completed in 415 total project hours.

Fun fact: When Supervisor Lupinacci was Assemblyman Lupinacci, Henry's brother, Michaelangelo, was an intern in his office and the Assemblyman attended Michaelangelo's Eagle Scout Court of Honor in 2017. Michaelangelo's Eagle Scout project, "Owl You Need Is Love," was comprised of the construction and funding of three custom-made owl houses with protective shields for the Brookhaven Ecology Site and Animal Preserve for a total of 490 total project hours!
