Since Tropical Storm Isaias on Tuesday, our Highway Department has been working nonstop, night and day, with support from our refuse crews, General Services tree trimming crews, and PSEGLI to respond to the 500+ trees, limbs and wires down and blocking roads.
Stay clear of downed wires and tree debris, as our teams can only move in to remove these road blockages after PSEGLI crews remove the live wire hazards.
If your street is blocked from a downed tree, branch or wire, report it to the Highway Department at 631-499-0444 or submit a service request at huntingtonny.gov/highway
All storm related debris left at the curb will be picked up by the
Highway Department, no need to bundle. This includes all Town, County,
and State roads within the Town of Huntington. If possible, please do
not place the debris in the street, but in the area behind the curb.
