Huntington – The Town of Huntington has published the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for The Preserve at Indian Hills, which is currently under review by the Department of Planning & Environment.
The Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for The Preserve at Indian Hills, comprised of multiple files, was submitted to the Town’s Planning Department on August 7, 2020 and published on the Town’s website by the Department of Information Technology; it can be found on the Town’s website under the Planning & Environment Department page, under Studies & Reports> Site Specific Plans, Reports & Studies (select Senior Living Projects or Residential Projects) or the files can be viewed directly at this link: https://www.huntingtonny.gov/indian-hills-final-eis
The Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for The Preserve at Indian Hills will be presented to the Planning Board for consideration after staff in the Department of Planning & Environment have completed their review, which may take approximately two to five months based on the content of the document.
Once the Planning Board accepts the FEIS as a complete document there will be an official comment period. After the comment period is completed and the public comments have been given appropriate consideration, the Planning Board will prepare a Findings Statement; once the Findings Statement is adopted, SEQRA is complete. At that time, the Planning Board holds the Final Subdivision Public Hearing and may consider a Final Subdivision Plan.
