Free parking will be available in the municipal parking lots in Huntington Village. While metered parking will be free on Thanksgiving Day, from December 16 through December 26, including Christmas Day, and on New Year’s Day, metered parking will remain in effect all other days through the holiday season, including the day of the parade. Free parking will also be available at the Huntington LIRR Train Station Church Street Parking Lot with a convenient free HART Bus shuttle into the village from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The theme of the day is a patriotic “Red, White & Blue,” supporting local merchants on Small Business Saturday during the day, and continuing with Long Island’s Largest Electric Light Parade kicking off at 5:30 PM featuring frontline workers, and ending with Santa’s arrival at the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, now being held at the 80-Foot Christmas Tree in the center of Wall Street’s Huntington Holiday Spectacular.

“The Huntington Holiday Parade is back in a big way, honoring our frontline heroes,” stated Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci. “This year, as the parade ends, we will kick off the Huntington Holiday Spectacular, thanks to the generosity of Huntington Hospital Northwell Health and our local merchants.”

“Our small business community started a brand-new holiday tradition last year and we’re excited to have the 80-foot Christmas Tree and Big Menorah back on Wall Street all season long,” said Deputy Supervisor Ed Smyth. “Shop our local merchants on Small Business Saturday this Thanksgiving weekend, then join us for live pre-parade entertainment kicking off at 5pm!”

11th Annual Huntington Red, White & Blue Holiday Parade

Huntington’s 11th Annual “Red, White & Blue” Holiday Parade, which draws between 5,000 and 10,000 people to downtown Huntington Village, will kick off at 5:30 PM from the Big H Shopping Center on New York Avenue and will proceed north to Main Street and then west on Main Street to West Neck Road. The parade kicks off with Dancin’ Feet at the intersection of Main Street and Wall Street.

The parade will include competitions for the best floats in several categories, with judging based on how well they follow the theme of the parade, “Red, White & Blue.” The friendly competition among fire departments is particularly fierce, because the winning department gets to choose who will play Santa Claus in the 2022 parade. Businesses and organizations are also encouraged to participate!

To participate in the Parade, download a 2021 Holiday Parade Application and return it to Huntington Manor Fire Department, Attn: Holiday Parade Committee, 1650 New York Avenue, Huntington Station, NY 11746 by November 15, 2021.

Interactive Parade Map

The Town will be hosting the Interactive Parade Map created by Town GIS staff. Participating businesses will be listed on the Parade Map, which can be accessed on any smart phone, computer, laptop, tablet, or other device.

Shoppers will browse the interactive Holiday Parade Map, full of giveaways and special offers related to Small Business Saturday and the Holiday Parade. The Interactive Parade Map also allows the user to see the location of entertainment, parking, transportation information and more. At the end of the holiday season the Parade Map becomes the Business Map.

Any merchant wishing to be featured on the map and offer deals for the Holiday Season can email info@huntingtonholidayspectacular.com by Friday, November 19, 2021.

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

As the parade wraps up Saturday, November 27, visitors will walk over to the 65-Foot Christmas Tree in the center of Wall Street’s Huntington Holiday Spectacular, where music will fill the block, adorned with lights and holiday decorations, as visitors await the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, followed by live entertainment and a chance for children to meet Santa.
