7/19/2022 - Heatwave Cooling Options for Town of Huntington Residents

Huntington, NY – Town of Huntington Supervisor Ed Smyth has designated various Town of Huntington facilities as cooling centers for Town residents for the duration of the heat wave.

“Please conserve power when you can, check on elderly neighbors and never leave pets outside in these temperatures,” said Supervisor Ed Smyth. “Stay hydrated and cool off at any one of these Town facilities.”

To help our residents beat the heat this week, the Town will be offering the following facilities as cooling centers to Town of Huntington residents for the duration of the heat wave:

DIX HILLS PARK
Dix Hills Pool & Lobby of Clark Gillies Arena (formerly Dix Hills Ice Rink)
Free access to pool for duration of heat wave
575 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills
Monday-Friday: 12:30 PM (after Camps end) to 8:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Recreation ID Card requirement waived for duration of heat wave
