Highway Superintendent Andre Sorrentino and Supervisor Ed Smyth would like to remind residents of emergency preparedness and safety measures and resources ahead of this weekend's storm.
- In the event of an emergency, please dial 911 or call the Suffolk County Police Department. To report power outages and downed power lines, call PSEG at 1-800-490-0075. To report gas safety emergencies and outages, contact National Grid at 1-800-490-0045.
- Please be sure to take appropriate safety measures during the storm. Stay indoors until the storm passes. If you must go out, please use caution and stay clear of fallen trees and downed power lines. Ensure that you secure any loose items around your property. There should be no refuse or trash receptacles left at curbside - bring them up to your home and secure them properly.
- The quickest and easiest way to inform the Highway Department of storm-related issues, including flooding and downed trees, is via QAlert. Visit https://www.huntingtonny.gov/at-your-service and provide, if possible, photos and detailed descriptions of any damage to save critical time.
