The Whaling Museum & Education Center of Cold Spring Harbor

The Whaling Museum features New York’s only fully-equipped 19th century whaleboat with original gear, and one of the notable scrimshaw collections in the northeast. It also features ship models, artifacts and tools used during the period when life of Cold Spring Harbor and whaling were one. The Museum seeks to explore the ever-changing relationship between humans and whales, emphasizing the long and vital cultural, scientific and environmental significance of Long Island and the Sea.
