Circle of Dance

Circle of Dance was founded in 1982 by artists seeking to develop a regional modern dance company. Founder and executive director Elaine Lewis has brought together talented dancers and choreographers who have performed throughout the U.S. and Europe. The company presents original dance works, creating a unique, eclectic repertory set to a wide range of music. The artistic diversity of the choreography creates a tapestry of timeless movement, poetic imagery and ingenious style.

The company's arts-in-education program brings modern dance to public schools as a tool for learning. Programs - which include workshops, residencies and performances - have grown to serve students throughout Suffolk, Nassau and Queens counties.
