Certificate of Occupancy and Completion Requirements

Every permit requires a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) or Completion (CC) to be issued in order to close the permit. Permits are valid for One Year, and some may be eligible to be extended with payment of renewal fees. Expired permits that have not received a CO/CC must be replaced with a Replacement Permit in order to obtain the CO/CC.

To obtain a Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Completion, please follow the Checklist provided on the portal at the time of permit issuance. If you are not the applicant of the permit, please request from the applicant to be added as a “guest” so that you may follow the progress of the permit.

A building permit cannot be renewed for more than two (2) 1-year terms (total of three (3) years). Only permits for “new” proposed work may be eligible for renewal.
