Generator Permit

A generator installation on Commercial properties requires planning approval as well as a Commercial Building Permit and Plumbing Permit.

A generator installation on a Residential property requires a plumbing permit.

**ALL GAS WORK and COMMERCIAL WORK require a plumber who is licensed in the Town of Huntington.**

Items needed to complete the application process:

• Owner Affidavit Required – 2025_-_Affidavit_of_Property_Owner - with guest and owner.pdf (applicant name on form must match applicant name on online account)
• Plumber's Affidavit - plumber affidavit.pdf
• Comprehensive Riser Diagram Required - Copy of a comprehensive riser diagram plan clearly depicting all existing and/or proposed work.
• Liability Insurance for Huntington Licensed Plumber - Must be for $1,000,000, with Town of Huntington as the Certificate Holder.
• Workers Compensation Form Required from Huntington Licensed Plumber - C 105.2 or U 26.3 or CE-200 Form - http://www.wcb.ny.gov/content/main/forms/Forms_HOMEOWNERS.jsp
• Homeowner’s Certification (if the work is Built Without Permit) – new homeowners cert.pdf
• $50 Non-refundable Fee Required Per Application in addition to Permit Fee
