Town of Hauntington

A Message from Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci:

For the third year, as we ceremoniously rename our Town in the spirit of Halloween, to the Town of “Hauntington,” it must be noted:

While there is much that our residents have gone without due to the COVID-19 shutdowns, there is a tradition in Hauntington that will not fall victim to the crisis.

I’ve seen many households where residents across our great Town have displayed their Halloween spirit, going above and beyond their typical Halloween decorating.

This is heartwarming, considering what the children of our Town have been through in this unprecedented year of cancellations, shutdowns and postponements.

Halloween is filled with costumed – and masked -- fun for all; children of all ages visiting businesses and neighbors throughout the town, in search of candy, bags in hand, asking “Trick or Treat.”

I know, after all we have come together to do during this difficult year, that trick-or-treating is something the residents of the Town of Hauntington can do safely, taking the necessary precautions.

Therefore, on the mask-wearing holiday of Halloween, Saturday, October 31st, 2020, the freedom of trick-or-treaters across the Town of Hauntington to exercise their Halloween spirit shall not be infringed;

And the Town shall declare that safe and socially-distanced mask-wearing trick-or-treaters shall continue the tradition of trick-or-treating in the Town of Hauntington in 2020.

Happy Halloween!
