Pay with Passport Parking App to Avoid Contact, Businesses Can Still Reserve Temporary, Exclusive Parking
Huntington
– Metered parking will resume in Huntington Village starting on
Wednesday, June 24 for the New York State Phase Three reopening, which
allows
indoor dining.
Outdoor
dining and indoor retail permitted by New York State for the two weeks
of the Phase Two reopening increased parking demand. The resumption
of indoor dining on Wednesday, June 24 in Phase Three is expected to
further increase demand for parking and the need to enforce parking time
limits.
Parking
patrons who wish to avoid touching the parking meters, or who prefer a
convenient alternative to using the parking meters, may use the Passport
Parking App to pay for parking or add time to an existing parking spot. Pay for parking online
or on the iOS or Android
Passport Parking App. Find instructions on how to use the Parking Parking App.
Businesses
in the Huntington Village Business District may temporarily reserve up
to three metered parking spaces in front of their establishments to
facilitate curbside pick-up and delivery vehicle parking only. The temporary parking permit allows exclusive use of the metered parking spot by the business and must be renewed monthly. Apply
for a Small Business Temporary Parking Permit online.
In mid-March, at the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, the Town started temporarily waiving metered parking fees in Huntington Village to encourage
curbside pickup at the few establishments that were operational during the shutdown.
