Breezy Park

Breezy Park is located on the northwest corner of West Rouges Path and Oakwood Road in Huntington, NY 11743.

The 11-acre property was the site of the former Mohlenhoff Nursery and subject of a tireless effort by local residents and the Cold Spring Harbor Soccer Club to keep the parcel from being developed and turn it over to recreational use. It backs up to Suffolk County’s Froelich/Wicks Farm nature preserve. Huntington and Suffolk County were able to acquire it in July 2006 for $4.1 million.

Breezy Park is a state-of-the-art facility that can accommodate three different field sports: soccer, lacrosse and football. The multi-purpose surfaces were developed along the lines of the Veterans Park in East Northport and Manor Field Park in Huntington Station.

In addition to Town and County funding, Joseph and Nikki Gregory donated $1 million on behalf of the Cold Spring Harbor Soccer Club in memory of the late Brianna Titcomb, the 13-year-old soccer enthusiast after whom the park is named. An active member of the Cold Spring Harbor Soccer Club, Brianna was killed by a drunk driver in Texas in 2005. Her nickname "Breezy" was given to her by her teammates because of the joy with which she played the sport.  A statue honoring her stands at the entrance to one of the park’s two synthetic turf fields.
