MLK Classic Rules:

 - Minor penalties - 1:30 minutes / Major penalties - 4 minutes / Misconduct penalties - 8 minutes

- During preliminary play, 3 points will be awarded for a regulation win, 2 point

for an OT or shootout win, 1 point for an OT or shootout loss and 0 points for a loss in regulation.   

- Any forfeited games will be recorded as a 3-0 score. Any forfeited games affecting another team's playoff status,

may be reviewed by the Tournament Director to determine which teams advance beyond preliminary round play.

Use of ineligible players will disqualify a team from the tournament.

Game Format:

- Each game will be three fifteen minute stop time periods, if a preliminary game is tied after regulation there will

be a 5 minute 3v3 sudden death OT, if the game is still tied there will be a 3 player shootout The Home Team will

decide if they want to shoot first or second, if the game remains tied then the shootout will be a 1 player shootout

until someone wins the game.  No player can shoot twice until all skaters on the team shoot once. 

- If one team is winning by five or more goals in the third period the clock will run until the end of the game or

until the team that's losing gets the game back to within three goals.

Overtime for Championship games:
- 10-minute sudden death (3-on-3) stopped time (switch ends)
- 3 player shootout. The Home team will decide if they shoot first or second.

- Sudden-death shootout (both teams get to shoot each round).  Teams must select a different player for each

phase of the shootout. No Player can shoot twice until all skaters on the team shoot once.

Tiebreakers:
To determine teams advancing to the Championship Games.
1. Total Team Points
2. Most Regulation Wins
3. Most Overall Wins
4.Head-to-Head (two-team tiebreakers only)
3. Goal differential
4. Goals Against
5. Goals For
6. Least Amount of Penalty Minutes
7. Team to score quickest goal in any game
